about us

South Bay Urology Medical Group is the oldest urological group in the South Bay area. It was founded by Dr. Joseph Schultz in 1963. Since his retirement, Drs. Paul, Matsunaga, Lesser, and Morrisroe have continued to provide comprehensive urological care to the South Bay community. South Bay Urology is proud of it's excellent, compassionate state-of-the-art urological care. Our urologists provide care for all types of adult and pediatric urological problems. All four urologists are affiliated with Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance and are involved with training and teaching UCLA urology residents at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Our excellent reputation is the result of providing years of quality patient care both in the office and in the operating room. Quality care is defined by communication, compassion, and working together with your SBU physician to manage the disease. When surgery is indicated, quality outcomes stem from SBU physicians' technical expertise and experience.

Our surgical and medical expertise is extensive and includes:

robotic surgery
female urology
advanced laparoscopy
urologic oncology
benign prostatic hyperplasia
kidney stones
incontinence
pediatric urology
male sexual dysfunction and infertility
Reconstructive Urology
scalpel-less vasectomy

our mission

The goal of SBU is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to each and every urologic patient. Our breadth of experience, training, and expertise allows us to confidently manage every urologic condition. Many of these conditions require sensitivity and understanding, and we take pride in treating our patients in a compassionate and professional manner. Our mission is to provide our patients with the type of urologic care - both medical and surgical - that we would want for our families.
