Biography
Dr. Ihab Beblawi received his medical degree from the University Of Cairo School Of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, in 1987. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1995. He then received advanced training in therapeutic ERCP in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1998. Following that, he received training in Endoscopic Ultrasonography at the University of California, Irvine, in 1999.
Dr. Beblawi has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of diseases in gastroenterology and hepatology. His procedural skills are broad and include upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, endoscopic ultrasonography, and ERCP.
His areas of special interest are biliary and pancreatic diseases and gastrointestinal malignant tumors. Dr. Beblawi is an attending physician at Huntington Hospital, where he participates in teaching the medical residents. He is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Physicians. He joined Alliance Digestive Disease Consultants in 1999. Dr. Beblawi is a member of the American Society For Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Beblawi did my "over 50" colonoscopy and endoscopy as I'd had some GI symptoms. First visit was just as excellent as second/follow-up one..he listened, threw out some ideas, and thoroughly answered all my questions. His professional and personable manner was greatly appreciated. Staff is also very responsive, professional. Both appointments were on time (saw Dr. Beblawi within 10 minutes of appointment time), and he knew my file/case/was prepared. Did not force medication on me immediately, but respects my decision to treat symptoms naturally (which I've been doing with success). It’s said death starts in the Colin. I’m now in my mid 70’s and I have put my trust in my gastroenterologist, of many years Dr Ihab Beblawi, to perform the necessary exams and procedures, namely the re occurring colonoscopy exams. However, lately I was having stomach problems and after consulting with Dr Beblawi my stress levels went way down as we spoke and I recalled my prior experiences with him. Then as now he listened and is scheduling the necessary medical procedure In diagnosing what is causing my discomfort. I like his methodology regarding a healthy Colin and stomach. Saw Dr. Beblawi for ongoing upper abdominal pain/possible GI issues. Had several months of health issues (ER, Hospital visits), and was nervous about seeing "yet another" doctor. Dr. Beblawi completely put me at ease, answered my questions, was thoughtful about what might be going on, clearly articulated next steps (some additional diagnostic exams), and was informative and personable throughout. This is a doctor who cares about his patients. I left the appointment with a better understanding of what might be going on. Other important things: easy parking (garage/street), office building is modern/easy-to-navigate, check-in/reception/administrative assistant was friendly, welcoming; appointment started on time; check out was easy (completed in 10 minutes so I could schedule some diagnostic tests - able to get in for those in 6 weeks/non-urgent) and I already have my instructions to prepare (endoscopy, colonoscopy). Dr. B had great bedside manners. I met him over the phone while my mother was in ICU with COVID. He explained the procedure he was going to perform on my mother. He took precaution days before with the medication she was taking before performing the procedure. Once the procedure was done he called to give me an update. I have had a couple of procedures done by Dr. Beblawi—an upper endoscopy in 2012 and a common bile duct gallstone removed by ERCP in 2019. After nearly a week in the hospital with several other specialist at a loss as to why my condition was deteriorating, Dr. Beblawi was brought in.
